Thought this would be a good lead into the USA vs. Mexico game.
If You’re a Cyclist You Need to Watch This Video: James Cracknell – Use your head. Use your helmet
I came across this video today, and my first reaction was, “Wow.”
It’s a PSA with James Craknell, a British Olympic medalist in rowing. He is also a cyclist. Last year he suffered a head injury when a truck’s mirror struck his head at 70 mph.
The video starts with James saying: “I used to be James Cracknell,” he says. “I’m not anymore.” It is also a bit graphic with cracking sounds as he talks about his accident and X-ray view of his head, but it really drives home the point: “Use Your Head. Use a Helmet.”
Juergen Klinsmann Hired as U.S. Men’s National Soccer Team Coach
This time it’s for real, Klinsmann has been chosen to be the next USA Men’s National Soccer team head coach.
“I am proud and honored to be named the head coach of the U.S. Men’s National Team,” Klinsmann said in a statement. “I would like to thank the U.S. Soccer Federation for the opportunity, and I’m excited about the challenge ahead. I am looking forward to bringing the team together for our upcoming match against Mexico and starting on the road toward qualifying for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.”
“Helping Our White Friends Dance for Over 70 Years” – So True
I was reminded of this commercial again this morning so I thought I just had to post it.
So true, so true..
Hot, Hot, Hot
The thermometer in my car hit 103° F yesterday as I was driving to a soccer match. And this was 6pm!
I could have played a second game after mine because another team was short players for their game. My choices were:
- Run around in 100+ weather for another hour.
- Head to a friends place for a dip in his pool.
Uh, I chose #2.
I can’t wait to see what the temperature is going to be like today. At least tonight I plan to be enjoying a nice beverage at the LBC.
